Promo Codes and Online Discounts

For many this post will be nothing new, but on occasion it’s good to be reminded to check for valid promotional codes and discounts when you shop online. Promo codes and discounts exist for many online retailers on a handful of sites that can give you a considerable discount. Sometimes you’ll strike out and there will be no promo codes or coupons available, but on many occasions you’ll find that you can consistently shop cheaper at certain retailers all the time.

My best advice is to ‘google’ (Search Google) in this format: “retailer-name promo codes” or “retailer-name discount codes”.

There are several sites that you can go to individually and see how their “stock” of promo codes for certain retailers are at any moment. Sites like www.retailmenot.com are a good example. Again, sometimes you get lucky, but in my experiences, I generally only find expired or useless promotional codes depending on the retailer. My best advice is to ‘google’ (Search Google) in this format: “retailer-name promo codes” or “retailer-name discount codes”. You will quickly be able to see if any ‘codes’ exist for that specific retailer and it will often be worthwhile to dig into the first few search results for valid promotional codes. Generally, you’ll copy and paste this code upon checkout to see your discount.

Retailers that I often find discounts for include:

• Kohls
• Godaddy.com
• JCPenney
• Old Navy
• Amazon.com

On rare occasion, you’ll find a Target discount coupon or Walmart promo code as well.
